Flying "Plastic Carpet"

I have read this very interesting article about a plastic "flying carpet" on the BBC online internet news.
This flying carpet was made in Princeton University. The plastic carpet is 10 cm long, has air pockets that help it fly, and it floats because of electricity. The flying carpet moves only at the speed of one centimeter in one second. The scientists studied for 2 years before the invention of the carpet. The plastic flying carpet has to keep close to the ground for now but in the future with more new research the flying carpet could fly faster and higher. I think that in the future maybe this invention could lead to a new form of transportation like flying cars and stuff.
